At Cooper Moss Advanced Dentistry, Dr. Joseph Moss places implants through the process of guided implant surgery. Dr. Moss has extensive training and experience in this process. First, he takes a three-dimensional image with our Galileo 3D CBCT imaging system. This image allows Dr. Moss to see the bone and structures surrounding the implant site. Using advanced dental software, a “virtual” crown is created to help determine the best implant position. Dr. Moss then “virtually” places the implant, making sure it is securely within the bone and avoiding both sinuses and nerves.
The digital information is then used to create a custom surgical guide that allows Dr. Moss to actually place the implant with the highest possible degree of precision. Not only is this method of dental implant placement significantly more precise than older methods, but also it allows for a more conservative surgical approach resulting in faster healing and a significant reduction in postoperative discomfort and swelling.
